LONDON — A British court has dismissed motions by two terror suspects asking not to be extradited to the United States.
Khalid al-Fawwaz and Abel Abdel-Bary are wanted in the U.S. in connection with 1998 attacks on American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 224 people and wounded thousands.
The two suspects had asked in separate motions for a judicial review of their cases and argued that being sent to a high-security U.S. prison would breach their human rights.
The judges said in their ruling that conditions in U.S. “supermax” prisons are harsh but “do not amount to inhuman or degrading treatment.”
It is not immediately clear if they will appeal Friday’s ruling to Britain’s Law Lords or the European Court of Human Rights.
